As a new student of Turkish history as well as of its language, I've been looking for good references on the web on the subject. Today, I found this particularly good link—www.allaboutturkey.com/reform.htm.
Also, Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism has this page on its language.

Dennisciğim, blog'unu çok beğeniyorum. Türkçe öğrenmeğe çalışmana da çok seviniyorum. İstanbul'dan sevgiler!
This one is a toughie. So far, this is what my transation is:
Dennis...your blog has much good taste. I'm very happy that you're learning/studying Turkish. Affections from Istanbul.
That's incomplete but close enough for now since I have to turn my attention elsewhere now.
Içten teşekkürler!
Bravo Dennis you got almost everything right. I am really impressed.
"Beğeniyorum" means "I like".
İyi geceler! (Tabii bizim için)
Teşekkürler, Meltem!
Tabii bizim için is new to me too. But I see that it means "of course for us".
Elbette!
