Endearments

I've added to my studies this assignment: what are some Turkish words of affection? Here's what I've found so far.
  • dear or sweetheart: sevgili
  • honey: bal
  • "Word for expressing affection. Similar to sweetheart or honey. The literal meaning is my life.": canım (pronounced janum)
  • sugar: şeker or şekerim (my sugar)

    Heh! You should hang around our apartment to pick up some choice terms of endearment. Here are a couple:

    Tatlım = my sweet, sweetie, sweetheart

    Bitanem (bir tanem) = my one and only

    Aşkım = my love

    Finally, Meltem likes "sevdiceğim," a term used a lot in romantic old Turkish movies. I think "my beloved" captures the sense of it.
